Support for yourOven

Light at front/dark at back

The food is too lightly browned at the front in the area of the oven door or too darkly browned at the back in the area of the rear panel.

The door does not close correctly.

Wait for the oven to cool down completely before carrying out the following steps:

  • Check that the door is properly positioned on its hinges and that the lock is in the correct position. Also check whether the door seal is positioned properly all the way around. Further information on this can be found in the operating and installation instructions or online on the Miele website.

  • Ovens with silicone seal: Grease deposits on the door seal can cause it to become brittle and cracked. Remove soiling immediately with warm water, washing-up liquid and a clean sponge cloth or a clean, damp microfibre cloth. Wipe the seal dry using a soft cloth.

  • Ovens with fibreglass seal: The sensitive fibreglass seal can be damaged by rubbing or scouring. Avoid cleaning the fibreglass seal.

If the door seal is brittle, cracked or badly worn, contact Miele Customer Service.

The food has been placed on the incorrect shelf level.

Use the most suitable shelf level for the food and operating mode as specified in the recipe or cooking chart. Recipes can be found in the instructions, in the recipe booklet, in the operating and installation instructions or online on the Miele website.

Rapid heat-up was used.

Do not use the Rapid heat-up function again if this problem occurs. This allows you to achieve an even cooking result, especially for more delicate baked goods such as biscuits. Also switch off the catalyser.
